If you have not yet seen it, the free feature-length documentary, HOME is available on YouTube only until June 14, 2009. HOME is a breathtakingly beautiful documentary built around footage from over 50 countries, all seen from the air. As we view the absolute majesty of our home, Planet Earth, the narrator tells us the story of the evolution of life here, and the aerial footage shifts to show us unequivocally how humankind has disrupted the fragile balance of that life, endangering our very existence.
This is perhaps the most compelling environmental movie made to date, and an absolute must-see before it is gone on the 14th. You can learn more about the project at the HOME website.
From the trailer: We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth’s climate.
The stakes are high for us and our children. Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being.
It’s too late to be a pessimist.
